Milani Bedazzled Limited Edition Collection | Lipsticks

So it's fair to say that I am a big Milani fan.  This cosmetic line is so "Women of Color" friendly.  I really try to purchase from companies that advertise to a wide diverse
.
This collection has some really beautiful jewel tone colors for fall. The Bedazzled Collection includes, 3 Eyeliners, 3 Matte Lipsticks, and 3 nail polishes. I picked up 2 of the Enchanted Statement colors. demographic.  I am particularly interested in the companies that I give my hard earned money to.

New Mabelline Matte Collection - First Impression & Swatches | Caramel Skintone

Hi Loves! I picked up some of the NEW Mabelline Matte Lipsticks. I have heard so much about them and really wanted to try them. So I went around seeking them around the third week of September, but none of my local drugstores or Wal-mart had them.  Well last week I went to CVS where I did see them and they had just about all the colors, except for what seems to be the most popular, "Divine Wine". A few YouTubers have said that it is a dupe for Mac's "Diva". In CVS I only picked up two shades, mostly due the price, they were $5.99.  As I was shopping in Wal-mart this weekend, I said let me just go check cosmetics and sure enough they had the display and it had just been put out with all 10 colors and they were only $4.97 each. Boom! So I picked up 3 more colors.  In total I picked only 5 from the collection.

Product Claims
Mabelline New York The Creamy Mattes by Color Sensational delivers a burst of bold lip color and a surge of creamy texture in a make-a statement shades, for mattes your lips will love to wear.

A How To: Polishing Tarnished Goodwill Silver Items

I know that I have been sharing a lot of things off topic of fashion and beauty, but this all in an effort to create my "She Space".  This space will be my personal work and film space for my YouTube channel. So for now I am decorating, cleaning, and sharing as I go.

This post is going to be a review of "Wright's Sliver Cream". I did go to YouTube looking for what products people use to polish tarnished Silver pieces. I figured that the many thrifters on YouTube would have shared a remedy.  But to my surprise I only saw videos using Baking Soda, Aluminum Foil, and Boiling water. Well I wanted some thing quick and easy.

On the recommendation of a fellow Thrifter I purchased Wright's Silver Cream.  On the packaging it claims to "clean and polish silver to a brilliant shine. This safe mild formula removes tarnish and keeps silver shinning longer." This cream is Amazing!! It worked fast and really got the job done. Some of my pieces were very tarnished almost black in color.

The product is super easy to use. It come with a sponge which the shape of an octagon, those edges makes it easy to get in corners.  The actual product is a plum colored whipped cream. It is fluffy and light.  A little bit goes along way.

Just taking a small bit on the sponge, I whipped product on the tarnished area and it became polished almost immediately.

I was so happy with the results, I maybe late on knowing about this product, but then again I've never really owned silver dishware either.  Here are some before and after photos.

Here's how I will be incorporating these pieces into my Shabby Chic "She Space" décor.

DIY: Shabby Chic Room Accent Decor

One of my YouTube subscribers asked me how do I Shabby Chic my wrought pieces.  So I am always happy to answer a question from you all, here's a couple of pieces that I recently did.  I want to style or theme of my room to be Shabby Chic. "Shabby Chick" is defined by Wikipedia as -  a form of interior design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their wear and tear or where new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique.

What you will need:
*Paint of your choice
*A small paint brush
*Accent Décor or Furniture of your choice.

It is really easy, First, you lightly dip paint brush into paint. I am using the paint that I used to paint my room and all the furniture pieces, which is by Kensington Clark. It's a satin finish in an Antique white.

Next take the paint and do light paint strokes across the desired area or over the entire piece.

Once you are done let dry for 3-4 hours.  Here is the final look.

I love the way they turned out. As I am decorating my "She Space" taking these thrifted finds and personalizing them is a sense of pride. With that being said, that's why I'm excited to share how I am doing this.

GIY: Bling Acrylic Makeup Storage

In an effort to personalize my "She Space", I have been doing a lot of DIY's (Do It Yourself) and GIY's (Glam It Yourself). Again, my money is very tight, but I still want feel pretty and uplifted.  So this process of redecorating our spare room for my work space has been a great creative work.

I recently saw a Blinged out acrylic makeup storage box on Instagram and fell in love with it. I looked it up on the seller's website and it was a bit out of my price range unfortunately.  I then thought, I believe that I can do it myself.  So I did.

I used my Clearly Chic Acrylic Tray and Drawers.  This brand is very affordable and can be purchased at the following stores: Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Bed Bath and Beyond, Ross and Marshall's. The price range for these acrylic pieces are $7.99-$19.99, I have not seen anything over $19.99 for these acrylics.

Here are some supplies that you will need:
*Gem Box - I purchased mine from a local craft store
*E6000 Glue - This a very sturdy super glue
*Acrylic piece of you choice

This is really super easy.

1. Take acrylic piece and identify the area that you want Gems displayed.
2. Take E6000 glue and carefully cover that specific area with glue.
3. Place Gems on to glue (you can put as many as desired or that will fit in that area)
4. Once you placed Gems as desired, simply let it dry for 4-8 hours.

Honestly this is an inexpensive project that really looks high-end on a low-budget. I love Bling, but can't always afford it. The project came out amazing, I love to just stare at it. I feel like it gives  my vanity a very Glamorous look.

Upcycling your Thrifted Finds

For the past month I have spent time Thrifting for room décor and furniture for my "She Space" which will serve as my office and film room for my YouTube channels. I just wanted to fix up the spare room in my house, where my creative juices could flow.  I feel like a room can set a mood you know. So with that being said I found an old desk at my local Goodwill, and decided to up cycle it to use as my new vanity.

The desk was mostly scuffed and scratched, but still in great condition. I was really happy that I found it. I purchased it for $39.99.  It did not fit in my small car, but a thoughtful stranger saw me and the Goodwill associate struggling to cram it in my car and offered to stow it in her SUV, and drive it to my house. That was so nice.  You don't see that kind of gesture on the regular. After driving right around the corner it was home. I was so excited to get started.

My husband helped me work on it. First we wiped down the desk to remove the dust and dirt. Than we used an electric hand sander to sand it down. You can purchase the sander machine at Wlamart, Home Depot, or Lowes.

Next we primed with a white primer.

Once priming was done, I started working on the drawers.  I wanted the drawers to have a pop of color so I choice Cotton Candy Pink paint.  I painted the entire drawer except the front face.  I also used a stencil to distinguish each set of drawers.

Next I painted the desk with a white satin finish paint.

Overall this upcycling process was a great experience.  I am elated with the result and ready to add my makeup and mirror to complete my vanity.

You can find some really unique pieces and make them your own. Goodwill and Garage Sales are a great place to find these unique statement pieces and décor for your room.
